Expanding their new line of everyday wear with performance, the Western Rise Kickstarter has launched for their new Limitless Merino Wool shirt. I’ve been impressed with their quality, thoughtful design and craftsmanship, so it’s great to see them back with using a versatile fabric for an everyday shirt that fits between the Elkton Flannel and AirLight Western shirts.
This is the second of Western Rise launching on Kickstarter, offering 25% off for backers while getting your hands on them as soon as they’re shipped later this year. The limitless shirt has already achieved the funding goal, with unlocks for a new style and colours waiting to be revealed. From sourcing merino wool in Australia to getting cut and sewn in fair trade Vietnam factories, Western Rise always pride themselves on quality and craftsmanship, so I’m excited to see this one.

One Shirt, Unlimited Potential

Merino is a well-known material that performs, used in premium garments and very well-suited to travel. It’s also a highly versatile everyday shirt too. The Limitless Merino Wool shirt makes full-use of it in a traditional buttoned-down shirt, built with Western Rise’s expertise and attention to detail. From the buttoned-down collar for a slick look to weighing at 311g for a travel packable shirt, it escapes the office to the outdoors with such ease.
As merino is at the heart of the Western Rise Limitless Merino Wool shirt, it’s anti-odour to save perspiration from showing or smelling, moisture-wicking that seeps sweat from the body to stay comfortable, looking fresh throughout the day. It does well at resisting stains if you accidentally spill a drink or get caught in the dirt, much better than a cotton shirt would handle.
After already being blown away with their outstanding AirLight Western and Elkton Flannel shirt in my recent reviews, I have no doubt this will be a quality addition to the wardrobe; it replaces a shirt that wears down over time with a shirt that racks the mileage, but stays ahead when the going gets tough. Who wouldn’t want a shirt built like that?

Work and Play, No Excuses

So what makes the Limitless Merino Wool Shirt so attractive? Well, the 175gsm fabric is well-suited to dynamic conditions – neither too thin for breezy days nor stuffy for hot days. It’s lightweight yet regulates temperature well. The blend between Australian merino and polyester offers a 4-way stretch to stretch those strides, reach for those heights and twist into those turns without any restrictions. It doesn’t get in the way, but actually conforms to your body so it flows in the same direction.
Even after all of that, merino aids with leaving no wrinkles behind. Coil fibres in the fabric retain a spring-like movement that reverts back to shape. Sweet, huh? I’ve always been let down time and time again with a shirt I want to wear and find a wrinkle that just won’t come out. This would make a very nice change indeed.

They currently come in a light grey, though plans are in place for more colours once they’ve hit higher funding such looks like they will. Black and navy on the cards maybe? It’s lighter than the grey on my Elton Flannel but these are pleasant as a dress shirt or casual one with a more leisure outfit.
