after the slight random hero drops in Season 5 with little to know what is coming up, the last shelter devs finally gave us some forecast on mostly what we can expect for the upcoming season. With SX hero #25 Lust and #26 Retrograder added for a total of 26 SX heroes, we get slightly larger drops of heroes from previous season for a total of 7 heroes from week 3 onwards. Like always, you should plan at least 80 super tickets per SX heroes. That’s the average I personally experienced over the 5 seasons and is shared by many. The range is roughly 70 – 90 while anything less is better and anything more is worse. Don’t spend your tickets if you don’t have enough coverage should you have to max out the luck meter (which is most likely).
On the plus side, the first two weeks are arguably the best weeks to pull your tickets in due to the much smaller hero drops of 4 heroes, each featuring top-tier heroes. Lust and Retrograder being split over the two hero drops means you’ll want to be strategy with how many to pull in the first two weeks, and then depending on the outcomes and forward-looking hero drops who and where to focus on.
WEEK 1 LUST
VERDICT A+ RISK LOW
An excellent first hero drop to kick off the season, pairing Lust with Wrath, Prophet and Shadow. There’s great synergy between these heroes to either pair with Lust, or top-quality heroes to mix in with others for high damage, troop recovery blocks, shooter evasion or a hybrid of them all. Shadow is the lowest rank in terms of quality out of the four, but that’s not throwin shade to the guy as he’s within some of the best company of heroes in the game who do what they do best. This is an ALL IN type of drop if you are looking to pick up Lust to max or have several copies of Wrath Prophet or Shadow. And if you have tickets to spare, the risk of duplicates is still worth in pursuit of maxing Wrath and Prophet, provided they slide into your APC. Otherwise wait from Week 3 onwards to try again with different heroes in the larger 7 hero drop.
TOKEN SHOP APRIL P2
The first SX hero to refresh in the token shop is Valkyrie (Shooter). She’s joined by Deus Ex Machina (Shooter), Viscount (Fighter) and Dragon’s Rage (Fighter). While exciting as it maybe now that we can pick up SX heroes in the token shop, this update is largely forgettable. If you’re saving your precious tokens for the right heroes, this isn’t the one. If you’re lacking a front row in either Deus Ex or Valkyrie and have the chance to max their skills completely. Then you could consider picking either up as they are still very usable in Season X onwards.
That being said, there are better options out there and since tokens are difficult to amass organically, then strategically, you should give this a miss. 100% do not pick up either Viscount or Dragon’s Rage. They are redundant for the most part when you get access to Season X fighters.
WEEK 2 RETROGRADER
This is an insanely strong hero drop with a super high offensive combo in predator and huntress paired together, with scarlet siren the best damage fighter hero and new hero retrograder with excellent versatility playing any troop type while benefitting form his focused high healing support. Arguably, this is the strongest hero drop in Season 6 thanks to just 4 heroes in this drop and being top quality all around. There’s very little to zero risk in pulling in this drop so if find luck to betray you, you’ll find a safe haven here that can bolster any APC across all vehicles, shooters, fighters and mixed formations.
VERDICT S RISK VERY LOW
TOKEN SHOP MAY P1
We conitnue the token shop update with a full lineup of shooters, minus one hero. It’s BIG update however as SX top-tier damage shooter Nomad enters the scene! He’s paired with S4 Commissar and S1 Cincinnatus, but all eyes are on Nomad. You can 100% forget about spending those precious tokens on Cincinnatus and Commissar, but 100% Nomad if you already have copies, and I strongly consider to develop him in the future picking up a single copy, BUT there’s a risk you’ll need to think about depending on your hero token balance and targeted heroes. Nomad carries this update big time and is worthwhile for anyone who had their eyes on him.
WEEK 3 PROPHET
What a surprise! We have a crazy pairing of Nomad and Death Rider, the top top-quality big hitters for shooters and vehicles in the same drop, with Nomad currently in the token shop May P1! (this cycle is specific to the month and won’t line up with your season 6). Very surprising to see them banded together although crusher always seems to be paired wherever Death Rider is found. The quality reaches top level althgouh the baseline is far lower than that found in hero drop 2, namely iron sentinel and patriot making the baseline floor, while crusher and shadow are good but uninspiring pickups you target for a drop. The risk factor is much higher here as Nomad and Death Rider are surrounded by mixed quality, but your own risk factor is higher or lower, depending if you already have prophet, in which the risk is lower, while the risk is higher if you already have one or more of these heroes maxed.
If you lack the tickets, pass over this as you’ll want extra buffer to compensate the lower quality heroes you are more likely to pick up. But if you’re happy to accept the risk and still gamble, take the risk and more power to you! If it lands right you’ll nab APC changing heroes against the odds backdrop.
VERDICT B- RISK MEDIUM
WEEK 4 HUNTRESS
If you dipped in hero drop 2 when Huntress first appeared and is in my opinion the best hero drop of the season, here’s your second chance to try getting more copies of her in thankfully a very good quality hero pool of 7. She’s alongside other top picks such as Kamikaze and depending if you have Siren, she’s the other top pick and best offensive fighter hero. We then have highly rated Rose Noire, Koschei and Hunk (if you already have him or synergy combos), with the weakest link being the sole Lone Wolf.
There’s great synergy among these heroes, with Kamikaze and Huntress, Koschei and Rose Noire, with Hunk and Scarlet Siren. Lone Wolf is pretty redundant but you can switch her with Siren within this drop. They all have great synergy outside of this drop too so if you plan to dip quite a few tickets you can get some solid formation building. If you have several copies, then the worth in this drop is higher. Overall, I would rate this as the 3nd best drop of the season, behind hero drop 2 of the 4 heroes and just behind hero drop 1 due to the 4 hero pool. It’s less risky than hero drop 3 and paired with the right heroes you’ll get very strong use out of 6 of the 7 heroes here.
VERDICT A RISK LOW
TOKEN SHOP MAY P2
A pretty solid token shop refresh. Crusher and Hummingbird are worthwhile pickups here, with Crusher adding a 2nd vehicle frontliner to the more superior Kamikaze and an upgrade to Panther as an all-round defensive. Hummingbird still provides excellent damage ouput especially her 2 turn charged shot, while Professional is a more niche and potent shooter hero, but isn’t worth the amount of tokens when either of the two either cost the same or a little more. Crusher and Hummingbird are only worth if these are your third copy to make them usable, unless you plan to work either for long-term development. Pass on Professional.
WEEK 5 LUST
An excellent hero drop featuring some of the best healing and support heroes such as Wrath, Canoness and Kamikaze. You’ll find top picks in here with a dash of risk in Wanderer, while Organic and Betrayed are great pickups along the way. Lust as the best confusion damage hitter can pair great with other confusion heroes in shooter or mixed APCs.
VERDICT A RISK LOW / MEDIUM
WEEK 6 RETROGRADER
Arguably one of the best hero drops with the lowest risk, second only to hero drop 2. Each one of these heroes are great in their own way, with top picks retrograder, predator and heaven’s redemption offering APC changing combos, while Glutton Sven and Valkyrie do great in defensive, attacking and force tiling. If you’ve struggled with RNG luck or tend to miss out on good heroes, you’ll have a safer bet here.
VERDICT S RISK VERY LOW
TOKEN SHOP JUNE P1
With excellent token shop updates over the last few weeks, we were bound to see some less useful updates so this was unexpected. As I had predicted, we continue with a vehicle hero headlining the SX hero and it was either another frontliner or support hero – Heaven’s or Organic. It’s Organic that features here who is a highly rated vehicle hero and adds more combinations on the confusion side with Lust added to the mix, although he isn’t featured as much in the top formations. Organic salvages this token shop upgrade as Juggernaut and Flash are disappointing heroes you’ll want to avoid. If you have at least 2 copies of Organic, he’ll be worth picking up while thhe other two are 100% pass. And with Eden: Conflict finishing this week, you may want to see what heroes come out of your rewards before deciding to pick up or pass on Organic.
